Specimen Handling

Breath specimens are easy to collect and are extremely robust samples that require no special handling. Samples can withstand the temperature fluctuations of winter and summer shipping. Samples should be sent to Metabolic Solutions immediately after completion of the test. When preparing to send samples just follow these three simple steps:

• Check to make sure the white mouth piece caps are securely in place. You know they are properly seated when you hear them snap into place.
• Completely fill out the requisition form.
• Place the samples and requisition form in the prepaid Priority mail envelope and send it as you would any other U.S. mail.
